Universal group of institutions Adopted 9 girl students on Lohri

MOHALI: Universal group of institutions today celebrated lohri by adopting 9 girl students of NGO Jyoti Sarup Kanya Asra Society and will provide them the free higher education. Dr Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, Universal group said at the moment that being a Punjabi, the festival of Lohri is very special to me as all Punjabis and that’s the reason this festival is made more special by providing the education to underprivileged nine girls named Manpreet Kaur, Sonia, Lovepreet Kaur, Kajal, Mehakpreet Kaur, Sharan Deep Kaur. Kirandeep Kaur,RamanDeep Kaur and Rajvinder Kaur of NGO who will peruse their higher education free of cost.

Chairman Dr Gurpreet Singh said further added that as it is believed that by spreading literacy amongst women the whole family benefits, which in turn leads to building a strong nation. Further high cost of higher education also acts as a road block for the poor and deserving girl students and such opportunities in education has given these an opportunity to excel and make a difference to usher empowered in society.
