Sukhbir Badal should stop shedding crocodile tears over CBI closure report: Randhawa

July 14, 2019 04:57 PM

CHANDIGARH: The Cabinet Minister, Punjab, and senior Congress leader S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and MLAs has lambasted the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal for shedding crocodile tears over the issue of CBI filing the closure report in the Mohali court in connection with the Bargari sacrilege case against three followers of Dera Sacha Said in the aftermath of the killing of dera follower Mohinderpal Bittu.

In a joint press communique here today, the Congress leaders S Randhawa, Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, Raja Amarinder Singh Warring, S Harpartap Singh Ajnala, S Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, S Kulbir Singh Zira and S Barindermeet Singh Pahra said that if Sukhbir Singh Badal is feeling so agitated over the closure report by the CBI then he should immediately ask Harsimrat Kaur Badal to resign from the Union Cabinet as the CBI falls under the Central Government purview. He also challenged SAD President to match his words with concrete action in this regard.

Taking the attack right into the SAD ranks, S. Randhawa said that the actual crux of the matter is that the CBI is protecting Badals who are the main conspirators in the case. They hatched a deep rooted conspiracy to seek votes of Dera Premis. In 2012, the Badal Government withdraw charge sheet filed in Bathinda Court in Guru Gobind Singh SWANG case against Ram Rahim mere 5 days prior to Assembly election to please the Dera Premis.

The Congress leader further added that the CBI is working as a puppet in this case. It did not investigate the case properly and come in to action only when Punjab Polide SIT headed by R.S. Khatra cracked the case and arrested the accused. He also divulged that we already had apprehensions about the intentions of CBI. For this very reason Punjab Government withdrew the Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan Police firing cases from the CBI.

"Moreover, it is beyond comprehension that what forces you to still maintain ties with the BJP whose government in neighbouring Haryana is considering parole to Dera Sacha Sauda Chief just to garner votes in view of the impending Assembly polls, " said S. Randhawa.

Warning Sukhbir that he can't avoid justice on this very emotional issue, S. Randhawa said that every single soul in Punjab knows who was responsible for the sacrilege incident and the events following smeared with blood of innocent protestors. The Congress also reminded the SAD President that the latter cannot befool the public on the issue anymore and the doomsday for akalis is fast approaching as they are the guilty ones in the eyes of the Sikh Panth.
