Record Breaking 378 PTU Merit Positions grabbed by CGC Students

MOHALI: The merit list of the final examinations conducted by IK Gujral Punjab Technical University in April 2018 has been released and students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran have yet again broken their all time record by grabbing 378 merit positions in a single year. The college has witnessed a 23% surge from the last released merit list with 52 Gold positions and 47 Silver positions along with 265 other merit positions. This has accounted for over 1000 PTU merit positions held by the students of CGC Landran till date. Out of which 98 are Gold, 106 silver and 86 Bronze positions.
As many as 35 students from Hotel Management and Biotechnology scored 10 SGPA along with over 150 students who have brought laurels to the college by securing above 9 SGPA. Hotel Management 4th Semester students Aarif Khan , Chanda N Kumar, Chetna, Munish Kumar, Piyush Jain, Rochak Jamwal, Roshan Vij and 6th semester students Sonia, Sunita Bhanda, Ambers Sood have clinched Gold Positions by fetching 10 SGPA each. Business Management 6th semester student Akansha Arora (9.64 SGPA) and Aakriti Bansal (9.32) from Biotechnology claimed top merit positions. Aayushi Panwar, Bhavya, Deepanshu Kumar, Muskaan Batra and Tavleen Kaur Jolly pursuing Computer Science Engineering clinched Gold Medals by securing 9.40 SGPA each while Tanishq Jain from IT engineering has grabbed 9.27 SGPA.
The Silver spots have been led by MCA students Shiv Prakash, Yashika Arora along with Samreeti Sharma and Antriksh Jain from B.Tech Electronic and Mechanical Engineering respectively. Pratibha, Manvi Sharma, Jyoti Tegwan from Biotechnology have made their college proud by securing silver with 9.86 SGPA. M.Pharma 2nd Semester srudent, Chahak Kakkar also claimed silver in the PTU merit list.
In order to encourage the bright students, CGC Landran has introduced an academic reward policy which guarantees cash prizes and Laptop to the university position holders.
Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran, congratulated the students stating that their efforts and dedication had paid off. They reiterated their commitment to maintain and continuously upgrade the quality of education which includes adopting the model curriculum, initiative to enhance industry exposure and bridge the academia-industry interface.
