Aakarshi, Malvika, Kiran George and Govind K. enter quarters

CHANDIGARH: Top seed Aakarshi Kashyap of Airport Authority of India moved into girls under-19 singles quarter-final after beating ninth seed Drithi Yatheesh of Karnataka by 21-15 21-11 in Round 16 of the 7th Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3 in Panchkula.
Second seed Malvika Bansod of Maharashtra ousted Delhi's Ananya Goel  21-8 24-22 in another pre-quarter-final match.  Third seed and daughter of Indian coach Gopichand Pullela, Gayatri Gopichand Pullela from Telangana also scored easy win against 10th seeded Amolika Singh of Uttar Pradesh by 21-16 21-12.
Second seed Kiran George of Kerala continued his winning spree as he ousted Monimugdha Rajkonwar of Assam 21-11 22-20 in the boys under-19 singles pre-quarter-final round. Fourth seed Orijit Chaliha of Assam advanced to the quarter-final at the expense of Sai Charan Koya of Andhra Pradesh 21-18 22-20.  
Govind K. of Kerala staged a good rally to overcome 15th seed bt Aakash Yadav of Delhi 17-21 21-19 24-22 and   eighth seed Jaswanth D. of Andhra Pradesh also moved up as he rallied to overcome 14th seed Siddhanth Gupta of Tamil Nadu 18-21 21-11 21-14.
