RBU street corner play on drug abuse draws applause

MOHALI: Students of the University School of Engineering and Technology (USET) of the Rayat Bahra University here today organised a street corner play on drug addiction with a view to making the students aware of the catastrophic effects of drug addiction. A team of students from Dramatic Club of the USET conducted the show with enthusiasm which kept the audience spellbound and won wild applause.

It sent across a meaningful message that drugs could destroy not only one’s health but career too and therefore it was crucial for youth to remember that they had to stay no to drugs.

Dr Ajay Goyal, Dean of the University School of Engineering and Technology, congratulated the students for their endeavour in organising the show. He called upon the students to organise more such street corner plays to make the people aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse.

Dr OP Midha, Registrar and Dean Student Welfare, Rayat Bahra University lauded the initiative of the students. He said that the State government had already launched a concerted campaign to weed out drug addiction the non government organisations (NGOs) had a crucial role to play in the rehabilitation of the youth who kicked drugs.

Dean, R&D, Dr SK Mittal encouraged the students to follow their dreams and focus on their careers.
