Gian Sagar promises all help to Asha workers

PATIALA: Over 100 Asha (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers here today attended a meeting with representatives of the new management team of the Gian Sagar Hospital.

Dr AS Sekhon, a representative of the new management of the Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital, on this occasion underlined the important role of the Asha workers in the implementation of the different healthcare programmes of the government. He said the Asha workers had a direct link with the people at the grass-root level and had an important role to play in ensuring healthcare in the rural areas.

He assured the Asha workers of all help from the Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital in implementation of the different healthcare programmes and said that the Asha workers and Gian Sagar Hospital could work in close coordination in ensuring provision of healthcare services at the grass-root level.

He said that the coordination of the Asha workers and Gian Sagar Hospital would benefit the people in the remote rural areas. He said that the Hospital would soon have multi super specialties in almost all branches of medicine and surgery besides having the best pathological laboratories which would be equipped with the best machines.

A senior functionary of the hospital said that the Emergency department had already been made functional. The indoor and outpatient departments had also become functional.
