CHANDIGARH : The sixth day of the NSS camp started with the physical fitness session at Panjab University Campus. The blood donation drive was organised at Physics Department, Panjab University and around 70 NSS volunteers donated blood on the occasion. Dr. Bikram Rana, the Guest of Honour at the blood donation drive interacted with the NSS volunteers. He shared his views on women empowerment, role of youth in nation building, responsibilities of good citizens. He advised the volunteers to channelize their thoughts and energies in a positive direction. Dr. Bikram Rana announced that 5 more units will be sanctioned to the PU campus after seeing the response and enthusiasm of the NSS volunteers and NSS units.
Amanjot Kaur and Maninder Singh from IFM, Chandigarh and Team Lease gave presentation on the importance of skill development and mastery of soft skills. Dr. Harish Kumar from UIET also interacted with NSS volunteers and informed the students about the steps taken by Panjab University for skill development in youth.
The representatives from Heartful Institute, Brigadier (Retired) Rajinder Singh, Kulwinder, Kanika, Supriya and Anju motivated the youth regarding the importance and process of meditation. The NSS volunteers wrapped up the day with a colourful cultural programme. The various activities were coordinated by Dr. Jatinder Grover, Campus Coordinator and programme officers by Dr. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Gaurav Gaur, Dr. Amrinder Singh, Dr. Parveen, Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh, Dr. Vijeyata Chadha and Dr. Sanjeev Gautam.
