FAZILKA: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal said today the next SAD-BSP government would establish a Commission to probe all cases of political vendetta registered by former Pradesh Congress President Sunil Jakhar against his political opponents and would take action against all those responsible for booking innocents in false cases.

Talking to Media persons at Abohar, the SAD President also demanded the immediate dismissal of chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi. He said the chief minister’s nephew Honey had purportedly admitted that the Rs eleven crore recovered from him was part of a cache received from the sand mafia as well as bribe for doing postings and transfers.

He said a chief minister who took money for posting and transfers did not have any right to remain in office. “He is likely to be arrested post elections”.
The visit also witnessed the return of former three time legislator Gurtej Singh Ghuriana into the SAD. Mr Badal said the party had received a massive boost in Balluana constituency with Mr Ghuriana’s return to the party fold. Earlier he also announced the formation of a Khateek and Regar Bhaichara Welfare Board to work for the welfare of both communities once the SAD-BSP government is formed in the State.

The SAD President was here to campaign in favour of party candidate Dr Mohinder Kumar Rinwa at Abohar, Pirthi Ram Meghwal at Balluana and Hansraj Josan at Fazilka.
Addressing the gathering at Abohar, Mr Badal said the Jakhar family had kept Abohar undeveloped during the last thirty years. He said even development works initiated by the previous SAD government including a sewerage project, had been stalled. “Roads are in shambles and even RO plants which were installed at various places have been closed down”.

Mr Badal said this was not all. “Sunil Jakhar also indulged in political vendetta after losing the last assembly elections from this constituency”. He assured that all such cases would be probed by a commission and that no one, including officers who had registered false cases against innocents, would be spared.

Addressing the gathering at Fazilka, the SAD President also assured that the next SAD-BSP government would ensure water reached the tail end of canals by establishing new distributaries besides going in for under-ground water supply through pipes. “We are committed to removing the irrigation water shortage in this area”, he added.

Mr Badal while speaking at Balluana said the Congress government had discriminated against the scheduled castes and under-privileged sections of society by scrapping lakhs of blue cards and severely curtailing all social welfare schemes. He said all ‘aata-daal’ cards which had been scrapped would be revived. He also announced that all those who did not have a home of their own would be given five marla plots by the next SAD-BSP government. He also announced that women heads of families would get a monthly allowance of Rs 2, 000 and that all domestic power consumers would receive 400 units per month free of cost.
