Welcome bash at Rayat Bahra University

MOHALI: It was a day filled with fun, excitement, dance, music and enthusiasm at the Rayat Bahra University here today where three fresher parties were organised to welcome the new students.

At the University School of Engineering and Technology, Rayat Bahra University senior students organized a sumptuous welcome bash for the freshers. A cultural fiesta was the highlight of the day as the seniors organised a sumptuous welcome bash for the first year students. The programme included dances, songs, stage plays, games, and the item that stole the show was the ramp walk.

The contestants in the ramp walk gave each other a tough competition to earn the different titles after crossing various rounds such as western wear, ethnic wear, question-answer and talent hunt. Finally, the much awaited titles were unfolded in the end. The title of Mr Fresher was earned by Lovish Goyal and Padamjit Kour earned the title of Ms Fresher.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman Rayat and Bahra Group, who was the chief guest on the occasion, advised the students to put in a lot of hard work to achieve their goals as these four years would lay the foundation of their bright future ahead.

Dr Daljit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat and Bahra University, motivated the students to participate in cultural activities along with academics. Dr Ajay Goyal, Dean, University School of Engineering and Technology, also spoke.

The University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University also organized Fresher’s Party, Agaaz’18, where Manjit Kaur Bahra, Secretary of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, was present. Akshit and Seerat were crowned as Mr and Ms Fresher.

The University School of Sciences and University School of Agriculture Sciences also celebrated Fresher’s Party “Spandan-2K18”. The highlights of the evening were folk dances, solo dances, fusion dances, fashion show, and singing. From University School of Sciences Jitender and Ambica were crowned Mr and Ms Fresher. Meanwhile, from the University School of Agriculture Sciences, Shivanshu and Shikha were conferred with the titles of Mr and Ms Fresher respectively.
