Vaccination camp at Rayat Bahra Intl School

PATIALA: A Measles Rubella (MR) vaccination camp was organized at Rayat Bahra International School here today in collaboration with the Health Department. The aim of the drive is to eliminate Measles and control Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) in the country by the year 2020.

The school under the guidance of Principal Simrit Khatra and Vice-Principal Rajni Sharma  provided the required infrastructure to facilitate the smooth running of the campaign. The vaccination campaign was inaugurated by  Gurwinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI), Dr Piush Verma Campus Director, along with School Principal Simrit Khatra. Dr Rao Varinder Singh, Medical Officer PHC Gajjumajra, Kirandeep Sharma (Pharmacist), Kulwinder Singh ( Pharmacist), administered and supervised the vaccination of the children.

The school had arranged spacious vaccination rooms, a waiting room and several observation rooms. The children were vaccinated in the presence of their parents and were kept under observation for a short period. This drive is aimed at improving health and well-being of the children.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra Chairman RBGI Group, interacted with the parents and shared his views regarding vision of the RBGI Group to eradicate all the threats to the health of the coming generation. Bahra also emphasized on education and overall development of the students of RBIS.

Dr Piush Verma, Campus Director, also addressed the parents and highlighted the importance of parent-teacher meetings. Dr Verma dwelt on able parenting and some tweaks which parents may use to brighten the future of their children. Dr Verma also stressed on the need for regular interactions between parents, teachers and management to strengthen the coming generation.
