Seven-day national workshop organized at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: A seven-day long National Workshop on 'Enhancement of Mathematical Skills' was organised at Khalsa College, Amritsar by the Department of Mathematics. Harinderpal Singh, Divisional Acquisition and Taxation Commissioner and Rajwinder Kaur, Acquisition and Taxation Commissioner were the Chief Guests for the programme.

During this programme, a Mathematics Lab was also inaugurated in the department by Dr. Mehal Singh for the graduate and post-graduate students. He emphasized the importance of such workshops in providing practical exposure to the students on mathematical topics.

The taxation officials threw light on the practical uses of the math and how I is basic from ordinary to the rocket science and termed the new math lab as boon for the understanding of the Mathematics studies. Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh persuaded students to take up Research in math.

Mr. Rajinder Pal Kaur, HOD, Mathematics delivered the vote of thanks on this occasion. Prof. Navreen Bawa, Dr. M. S Batra, Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, Prof. Sukhmin Bedi, other faculty members and staff actively participated in the discussions.
