Rayat Bahra students visit old age home

MOHALI: The International Day of Older People is an opportunity to highlight the important contribution of older people in the society to raise awareness of the joy and challenges of ageing in today's scenario. Keeping in mind the theme for 2017 "Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society", the students of Rayat Bahra University School of Medical and Allied Sciences, celebrated this day at Akal Old Age Home, Ratwara Sahib, Mullahpur Garibdas.
Students of Bachelor of Physiotherapy interacted with older people to know about their lifestyle and the problems faced by geriatrics.
Col Rajinder Singh, Head of the Akal Old Age Home, addressed the students. He said: To respect your parents is your duty. God commands you to respect your parents. Whichever religion you follow and whichever god you worship, they all teach you to respect your parents.
Dr Neena Mehta, Dean USMAS, said that geriatric people are the roots of our nation with whose guidance and experience the youth flourish.
