Mohd.Junead & Rajwinder kaur is best athlete of Rayat Bahra Patiala Campus

PATIALA : Mohd. Junaed from D. Pharmacy was declared the Best Boy Athlete, and Rajwinder Kaur BCA 4th semester was declared the Best Girl Athlete in the the athletic cum sports meet organized at the Rayat-Bahra Group, Patiala Campus here on Friday.


More than 500 students took part in track event races i.e., 800,400,200 and 100 Meter Races, Javelin Throw, Shot-put, Long Jump, Skipping, Power Lifting and Push-ups. Girl students of Patiala Campus too did not lag behind. They were the equal competitors with boys in all the athletics, field games and all Matches.

Students of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, law and Polytechnic Institutes participated in various athletics and field games.

All the students made catching competitions shown by their participation in different matches like Cricket, Volley Ball, Badminton and Basket Ball. Kabaddi Matches made a special attraction of spectators with their individual traditional styles chanting “kaudi, kaudi, kaudi” during the whole raid.

Arjuna awardeeJ.S. Jalha Superintendent Police, Mohali, was the chief guest at the sports meet.

He along with Campus Director Dr. Piush Verma and Director-Principals hoisted the flag and declared the Athletic Meet open.
The Chief Guest gave away prizes to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, Jalha said sports were equally important as academics and helped keep the mind alert. He congratulated the athletes for showcasing true sportsmanship in the playground.

Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of institutions Gurvinder Singh Bahra conveyed his greetings to the athletes and participants and congratulated the winners and their mentors. He said that sports teach students importance of co-operation, teamwork and these also helped develop leadership qualities.

Campus Director Dr. Piush Verma welcomed the Chief Guest and all the athletes and described them as heroes of the day.

All the Principals Prof. Neena Bansal of Management, Harbans Singh of Pharmacy, Dr. Harsharan Kaur of Law, Prof. Deepak Aggarwal of Polytechnic, S.S. Mahal, Director Admin, faculty members and staff witnessed all the events.
