LPU mourns Pulwama Martyrs: National Flag flown Half-Mast at the Campus

JALANDHAR: Paying homage to martyrs, who lost their lives in a terror attack in Pulwama (Jammu & Kashmir), Lovely Professional University made national flag fly half-mast at its campus in sacred memory, honour and dignity of the brave soldiers. NSS Volunteers, NCC and Air-Wing Cadets at LPU saluted the untimely departed brave souls.

Today’s classes in all departments were commenced with two-minute silence observance under a cloak of stuns and shocks spread across the campus. 10, 000 students and staff members also held 4 kms long silent ‘Candle March’ leading to symbolic ‘Amar Jawan’ Smarak at the campus. Contributing an initial amount of Rs 5 Lakhs, LPU has opened an account to support bereaved families of martyrs, and has invoked all students and staff-members at LPU to contribute liberally to the same.

In fact, one and all at LPU are saddened at cowardice incident and paying their respective homage to martyrs. Saluting the courageous soldiers, LPU also extended its solidarity and condolences to the bereaved family members of the Jawans. LPU Management, students and staff members offered their payers for injured Jawans as well, and wished speedy recovery for them. In view of this all, month before destined mammoth Coke Studio 2019 event, which was to be held today on 15th February 2019, was also cancelled by the LPU Management.
