IKG PTU & its Colleges will jointly work for meritorious students admissions

Jalandhar/Kapurthala : On the basis of best class infrastructure of technical and professional educational institutions, this year objective of I K Gujral Punjab Technical University and its affiliated colleges is not only to increase the number of admissions, but to have meritorious students. This was decided in a meeting of IKGPTU officers and Chairmen of its affiliated colleges held in university campus.

This meeting was regarding admissions for the session 2018-19. The university authorities gave assurance of every type of cooperation from its side to fulfill this objective. It was decided that the Punjab will remain the host state and admissions will be done in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. The students will be told about educational environment and available resources in Punjab.

The meeting was chaired by Dean and Chief Coordinator admission session 2018-19 Dr. N.P. Singh. He said that every year, thousands of students come in Punjab from all the states. In order to make the graph of education in Punjab grow in right direction, we must focus on meritorious students. He said that as per the directions of government and controlling bodies, best of the infrastructure, international standards labs, modern hostels and other facilities are available in colleges and universities of Punjab. Dr Singh further added that having meritorious admissions in Punjab is the need of the hour.

Deputy Registrar from Academic Department Dr. (Er.) Ekonkar Singh Johal gave a presentation on the joint efforts to be done by University and its affiliated colleges for admission session 2018-19. Colleges were divided in to five clusters and suggestions were made regarding that.

During the meeting, Chairman Aryan group of Institutions Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman St. Soldier Group of Institutions Mr. Anil Chopra, Mr. Harpreet Singh Channi from CT group of Institutions, Chairman Social Group of Institutions Mr. Loval Kalia and more than 50 higher officials from other institutions were also present.
