Faculty development programme on cognitive computing organised at CGC Landran

MOHALI: A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) covering the concepts of cognitive computing was organised for faculty members of Computer Science Engineering department at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran. The programme’s objective was to keep the faculty updated with the latest innovations and technological advancements in the field. Cognitive computing comprises technology platforms that are based on scientific disciplines of artificial intelligence and signal processing.
The sessions were addressed by Mr Rajib Bhattacharya, Solution Architect, IBM Watson Supply Chain Services who also enlightened the audience about IBM’s Watson analytics, a smart data analysis and visualization service and its usefulness as a tool in the fields of healthcare, retail and finance. The FDP consisted of presentations, training sessions, interactive Q&A segments and related practical exercises.
Underlining the importance of such sessions Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC Landran said that they are useful in bridging the gap between industry and academia by keeping the faculty updated with the latest evolutions and trends in the technology sphere.
