Dr Daljit Singh is Rayat Bahra varsity V-C

MOHALI: Daljit Singh, an eminent academician and administrator, has taken over as Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University.

A renowned law specialist, he has taught Law in the Department of Laws of Punjabi University between 1978 and 1995. He was the founder Director of the Army Institute of Law, Patiala from June 1999 to June 2000, and Professor and founder Head of the School of Legal Studies 2002-2005, and former Director of the Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Jalandhar and Principal Khalsa College Amritsar 2005-20014.

Dr Daljit singh has also worked as Vice-Chancellor of the Bahra University, Shimla Hills, for two years.

Dr Singh has been the recipient of several awards and honours. He was bestowed Bharat Vidya Ratan Award by Global Achievers Foundation, New Delhi in May, 2013.

He has remained on several academic bodies of different universities. He was Member of Syndicate of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar(2013-14), Member of Senate of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, 2013-14, Member of Senate Sri Guru Granth Sahib University, Fatehgarh Sahib, and member of the Governing Council, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala.

Dr Daljit Singh was felicitated by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, and senior faculty members as he assumed office of his new assignment.
