CGCians make it to the final round of international Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition

CHANDIGARH: Team M3N consisting of four, third year Mechanical Engineering students Naman, Mohd Jafar, Mrityunjaya and Mohit, from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran have qualified for the final round of global level Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition 2018 for creating a unique multilingual mobile application (app.) named ‘DocPat Helper. The competition is one of the activities that belong to the UNESCO Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development. It recognizes innovative ideas and projects from young entrepreneurs around the world that have a positive societal impact and which champion and implement one or more of UNDP’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Team M3N’s DocPat Helper seeks to support Sustainable Development Goals by making medical facilities easily available to patients and by promoting paperless doctoral prescriptions thereby promoting SDGs of good health & well being and sustainable management of all types of forests globally. Some key features of the mobile app. include enabling doctors to maintain a patient’s medical record in-app, his/her ongoing treatments or medications, due appointments etc. by entering a unique patient code or scanning a QR code allotted to the patient. The patients using the app in addition to being able to easily schedule appointments with their doctors, would also be able to search for and order medicines online.

CGC’s team M3N will be competing with 100-plus other entries submitted by young entrepreneurs from across the world including the USA, Canada, Africa, Europe and Asia. The team is one of the only three from Punjab that have made it to this stage of the competition.

The winners of Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship competition will be announced at the Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Berlin, Germany, in October 2018.
