Post Exam CAT Analysis:

CAT 2018 is a computer based test which is conducted by IIM Calcutta this year. Apart from the 20 IIMs, hundreds of highly ranked MBA colleges will accept CAT 2018 scores for admission to their MBA/PGDM 2019-21 batch.

CAT 2018 is going on the same format as that of last year and is to remain as a Computer Based Test with 100 questions to be solved in a time span of 3 hours (180 minutes). The test taker has more than 1minute per question in hand to solve.

Marking Scheme

CAT 2018 Exam includes negative marking as well. Every correct answer will get 3 marks and each of the incorrect answer will get -1 mark.

Expected Cutoff CAT 2018

The cutoff marks/percentile are the minimum marks/percentile that is required to qualify the exam in order to move to the next round of the selection process. Apart from the 20 IIMs, around hundreds of B-schools across the country accept CAT scores for their admission process. Few IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, and IIM Udaipur have released their CAT Cutoff 2018 for the selection process.

New Things in CAT 2018 Exam    

The total number of registrations for the CAT 2018 exam has increased this year. As many as 2.41 lakh candidates have applied to CAT 2018 Exam. Also, seven new cities have been added to the list of CAT 2018 exam cities.

The application fee of CAT 2018 has also been increased to Rs.1900 for General/ NC-OBC candidates and Rs.950 for SC, ST & PWD candidates. New payment modes have also been added this year including BillDesk, PayU and Paytm. 

From this year onwards, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, will also be accepting the CAT score for admission to its MBA programme.
