136 Teams of special monitoring cell conduct raids in 1045 Punjab schools

CHANDIGARH : On the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, 136 Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 1045 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. Three Circles namely Jalandhar, Faridkot and Nabha (Patiala) were visited by the special teams at the same time.

Divulging the details a spokesperson of the department said that during the special checking total 21 teachers were found absent while 47 teachers were late whereas 26 teachers were found long time absentees. He said that immediately after opening the schools special teams visited 390 schools of Faridkot Circle, 354 schools of Nabha (Patiala) and 301 schools of Jalandhar Circle.


He further said that 5 teachers were found absent in Jalandhar Circle and 30 were late comers while 10 found long time absentee. Similarly during the check of 354 schools in Nabha (Circle) 5 teachers were found absent, 3 were late comers and 7 teachers were long time absentees. In Faridkot Circle 11 teachers were absent, 14 were late comers and 9 long time absentee.


The Spokesman said that to maintain discipline and punctuality in the Government Schools special and surprise checking would continue in future also. The Minister also directed to the senior officers that 100 percent attendance of the teachers would be ensured.
