JALANDHAR: The third day of the Guru Nanak Dev University C-Zone Youth Festival being held at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar saw the wide ranging talents of stage enactment genres. Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal, SSP, Jalandhar Range was the chief guest for the occasion.
Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President, College Governing Council, S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary Governing Council, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director Youth Welfare Department, Guru Nanak Dev University , Amritsar gave a flowery welcome to the dignitaries on the stage. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal, SSP, Jalandhar Range , credited youth platforms such as youth festivals in instilling values such as discipline and responsibility among students. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra congratulated the contestants and staff members from all the participating colleges for their richly talented endeavors in the event. The proceedings of the day also saw a special honor rendered to Prof. Sarita Tewari, former faculty member of the college, for her immensely valuable contributions to the field of teaching, literature and theatre.
The results from previous day’s skit competitions saw Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar bag first position followed by Trinity College Jalandhar on second and Lyallpur Khalsa College and Mata Gujri Khalsa College Kartarpur jointly on the third spot.
