Two Punjab youth drowned in lake in Canada

SURREY: Two youth haikling from Muktsar in Punjab were drowned in Harison lake near Surrey in British Columbia state of Canada.

The two youth had gone to participate in Nagar Kirtan. While returning home they decided to take dip in the lake. They were swept away by the strong current of water. The deceased have been idntified as Gurwinder Singh Dhaliwal of Dhulkot village and Harkirat Singh of Rupana. Ranjodh Singh another youth of village Bandala in Ferozepur district accompanying them was saved by a local girl.

Gurwinder Singh was sattled in Surry since 2013 after he got Permanent residency. Harkitat had gone to Canada on a study base in 2012 nad now living on work permit. The family said that both will be cremated in Surry.
