Compassion Through Action theme for 2018 Festival of Faiths

INDIANAPOLIS: 'Compassion Through Action' has been selected as the theme for the 2018 Festival of Faiths which is scheduled for October 14 (Sunday) from 1 to 5 p.m at the Veterans Memorial Plaza and Indiana War Memorial. The prestigious event is being hosted by Center for Inter-faith Cooperation. CIC goal is to have 100 exhibitor tables this year. Muzaffar Ahmad is the chairperson for the Festival.
This will be a great event, prepare to learn much more about what is scheduled. One can register for the October 14 Indy Festival of Faiths Sign up as a volunteer, an exhibitor or sponsor. Cost: $125 registering after August 14; $100 for early bird registration before August 14. Scholarships are available if needed.
The theme for 2018 Festival of Faiths was finalized in the Steering Committee meeting. According to CIC Executive Director Charlie Wiles John Clark, Ray Mills, Cenk Kandemir, Sonal Sanghani, Musa Burki, Muzaffar Ahmad, Rebecca Holloway, Reverend Carolyn Hardville, Jane Gehlhausen, Bill Foley, Mary Chalmers, Charlie Wiles, Ben and Tristan Leslie attended the meeting.
Charlie welcomed everyone and Ray and Bill shared an overview of Cincinnati’s inaugural Festival of Faiths.
"There was a good conversation about the theme with a few recommendations: Faith & Civic Engagement, Faith through Works, etc. However, after some deliberation the committee chose Compassion Through Action as the theme for the 2018 Festival of Faiths!"
"The members recommended provide examples for how exhibitors can express the theme. Jane agreed to facilitating an “Exhibitor Workshop”, possible on the early-bird deadline of August 14."
John Clark then reviewed the timeline for press releases and discussed Festival of Faith planning template from Louisville. We distributed save the date cards that Ray Mills produced.
According to Charlie Wiles "We then discussed the possibility of producing video addressing the theme of compassion through action, and highlighting the many activities that diverse congregations are undertaking locally and around the world related to the theme.
Charlie would like to make sure all of the committees have the funds they need to be successful.
The steering committed also to raise the registration fee to $100 for early bird (by August 14) and $125 for late comers- We will also mention that scholarships are available if the cost is prohibitive.
