Tarn Taran woman gangraped, three booked by police

AMRITSAR: Punjab Police has booked three persons for raping a 20 year old woman resident of Munda Pind village in Tarn Taran district.

According to police, the girl was raped on the night intervening Oct 1 and 2 but case was reported only yesterday since the accused had threatened the woman. The girl claimed that she had made complaint on Oct 4 but case was registered on October 7. Those booked for rape and intimidation are Gurjant Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Gursewak Singh, all residents if Munda Pind.

The victim said that when she went out to close the main gate of house at 11 PM , the accused kidnapped her and took to nearby farm house.The three accused gangraped her and threatened not to report the matter. The accused also clicked her objectionable photos to blackmail her.

The Police has booked the accused under section 376 D (rape) 342(wrongful confinement) and 506(criminal intimidation) if IPC. All accused are absconding.
