SAD Leader Shot dead in post election violence

GURDASPUR: In a post election violence, district vice president of Shiromani Akali Dal Gurdaspur was shot dead by a retired colonel at Pheochichi village under Bhaiani Mian Kahn police station in Gurdaspur district todnight.
According to police tSAD Leader Gurbachan Singh (80) was returning to his home after getting fodder for animals when a retired colonel Surjit Singh Pherochichi allegedly shot him dead with his licensed pistol.
The alleged accused believed to be a worker of congress as he was earlier worker of PPP led by Manpreet Singh Badal.
DSP Gurdaspur A.D.Singh and other police officials reached at spot and started investigations.
The accused managed to escape after committing the crime. A case has been registered against him. The body of SAD leader brought at civil hospital here for postmortem.
