Punjab Vigilance bureau nabs Patwari,private person for accepting bribe

CHANDIGARH: State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a revenue Patwari along with a private person red-handed for accepting bribe.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Ranjeet Singh, Patwari, posted at revenue halqa Jandawala in Bathinda district and a private person Kuldeep Singh were caught red-handed on the complaint of Gurpinder Singh of village Jeeda.
Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 9,000 for mutation of the land.
After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and both the accused were caught red-handed taking bribe money of Rs. 9000 in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police Bathinda and further investigation was in progress.
