Punjab Police ASI arrested accepting Rs.10,000 bribe

PHAGWARA: The Vigilance Bureau today nabbed an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arjun Singh  Incharge Village Panchhat Police Post(Phagwara)and Head Constable(Munshi) Shingara Singh while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. From a villager Sarabjit Cheema of Village Bhaghana on Saturday late evening.

Both accused Cops were nabbed  under section 7-13(2) Prevention of Corruption Act red-handed  on the complaint of  Cheema by Vigilance team headed by Inspector Vigilance Dalbir Singh.

The complainant has approached the Vigilance that the Assistant Sub-Inspector was demanding Rs 10,000 for supporting him in  his ongoing matrimonial dispute with his Wife Sandeep Kaur working as School Teacher in Government Elementary School in Miopatti. The case was lying pending in Family Disputes Settlement Committee in Phagwara. Dr Raman Kumar and Sandeep Singh both Veterinary Officer were present as witness at the time of the arrest of both cops.
