PHAGWARA: The Phagwara Police have succeeded to trace a case of blind murder of a Jharkhand resident migratory labourer Vishram Samad(38) committed in nearby Village Nangal Majha on February 21.

Senior Superintendent of the Police Kapurthala Sandeep Sharma and Superintendent of the Police Phagwara Parminder Singh Bhandal told newsmen here on Saturday afternoon that the police successfully arrested a Jharkhand resident Vinod Topan under section 302/201 IPC on the charges of murdering his own friend and later throwing the dead body near the trees  at a deserted place in the village.

SSP and SP told that killer threw the deceased  from the roof of a room and beat him mercilessly to death with bricks after a drunken brawl at nearby Nangal Majha village.

His body was found on February  21 this morning lying in a pool of blood in the fields, they said.

They said, Samad and the accused had drank together last night at a farmer's house where the victim was employed. But they seemed to have picked up a quarrel in the state of drunkenness after which the accused hit the victim with bricks fatally.
The accused, along with his wife and a child, had fled away after the murder. The killer was nabbed from the bus stand of Village Parvej Nagar PS Fattu Dhinga, when he was trying to board a bus to go back to Jharkhand.
