Gangwar in Ropar, three persons injured

ROPAR:  Three persons were seriously injured by another group of four suspected gangsters who attacked the former with sharp edged weapons here today near the NCC academy.

According to Manvir Singh Bajwa DSP City, one Amandeep Singh of Awankot village near Ghanauli and two of his friends Jasbir Singh and Narinder Singh were returning after attending a court hearing in a case in Rupnagar district courts when members of other gang attacked them.

The victims were going on their bike PB12W3665 when they were ambushed by about eight persons waiting in a Indigo car bearing Himachal registration number. The car borne gangsters hit the bike and attacked them with sharp edged weapons. The miscreants also carried a pistol, eyewitnesses said.

The NCC officials from the academy rushed to the rescue of victims and saved them. Both parties are said to be from rival gangs. They had a clash in Ghanauli two years back.

Bajwa said that they were conducting raids and will register FIR after investigation.
