CBI court gives 2 years RI to Police Inspector(Immigration), three others

:NEW DELHI: The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ahmedabad (Gujarat) has convicted Govindbhai J. Chaudhary, the then Police Inspector (Immigration), SVP International Airport, Ahmedabad and three Private Persons namely Ashik Hussain Ali Oonwala, Mohd. Siddiqui Abdul Gani Merchant & Jayesh Rambhai Patel and sentenced them to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000/- each.

CBI had registered a case against Govindbhai J. Chaudhary, the then PI Immigration, SVP International Airport, Ahmedabad, and others. It was alleged that the accused had not carried out immigration clearance of the passengers and allowed these impersonators in immigration clearance.

After an investigation, charge sheet was filed Under Section 120-B, 109, 419 of IPC & Sec. 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against the accused before Special Judge, CBI Court No.2, Ahmedabad on 31.05.2001. The Trial Court found the accused persons guilty and convicted them.
