CBI booked five Delhi and Punjab resicdents for human trafficking

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against five accused persons, residents of Delhi & Punjab, on the allegations of attempted human trafficking of 11 teenage boys to the USA under the garb of an educational trip. It was alleged that the accused persons submitted false & fabricated documents to the US Embassy for obtaining a non-immigrant visa for the said 11 boys and one of the accused persons.

All the teenage boys were allegedly shown as students of a school in Punjab. One of the accused persons, who was to escort the said group of boys to the USA, was shown as the Principal of the same school, whereas none of them belonged to the said school. It was also alleged that the accused had taken lakhs of rupees from the families of each of teenage boys for sending them to the USA.
The  case was  registered against accused  namely Ms. Rachna David, a resident of Jalandhar (Punjab) ii) Sandeep Singh Luthra, a resident of New Delhi iii) Amit Jyot Singh, a resident of New Delhi iv) Rohit Gauba, a resident of New Delhi v) Ms. Anshika Matharu, a resident of New Delhi

It was alleged that the boys were allegedly brought from Punjab to New Delhi by the accused and were tutored to present themselves as school students at the time of their interview at the US Embassy. One of the accused persons allegedly impersonated herself as Principal of the said school and accompanied the 11 boys to the US Embassy and submitted false & fabricated documents for obtaining a non-immigrant visa.

Searches were conducted today at 05 places in Delhi and 01 places in Punjab, including residential/official premises of accused, which led to the recovery of incriminating documents & articles.
