CBI arrests sub-inspector of Delhi police accepting bribe of Rs 70000

JALANDHAR : The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub-Inspector, posted at Police Station Nihal Vihar, Delhi for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.70,000/- from the complainant.

A case was registered U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on the allegations that the Sub-Inspector of Police Station Nihal Vihar, Delhi Police was demanding a bribe of Rs.One lakh from the complainant for getting the bail of the complainant’s brother in a case being investigated by him. CBI laid a trap and caught the Sub-Inspector red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.70,000/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused.

The arrested accused was produced today before the Special Judge, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi and remanded to 14 days Judicial Custody.
