CBI arrests a Joint Chief controller(GOI) and a private person in alleged bribery case

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum & Explosive Safety Organization, Shastri Bhawan, Chennai and a private person in an alleged bribery case.
A case was registered against a Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum & Explosive Safety Organization, Shastri Bhawan, Chennai; a private person of Perambalur based private company and a middleman of Chennai based private firm under the relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. It was alleged that the public servant had demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the private person for the issuance of a license under the Explosives Act. Both the public servant and private person were intercepted by the CBI and were arrested.

Sakthivel(Private person) of M/s AR & Co. Perambalur,

Sakthivel (Private person) of M/s AR & Co. Perambalur,

Kumaresan (Middleman) of M/s Centaur Consultant, Chennai
Searches were conducted today in 11 places including at Chennai, Jaipur & Chandigarh.

The arrested accused will be produced in the Designated Court, Chennai.
