BATALA: At least 30 devotees including women and children were injured when a mini truck in which they were returning from a religious place was over turned after bursting its tyre near Dhandhoi village on Batala Sri Hargobindpur link road near here this evening.
The injured were admitted to civil hospital Batala and four of them whose condition was stated to be serious were referred to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar.
According to police, a mini truck carrying at least 40 devotees was returning to nearby Dhadiala Nazara and Misharpur from Baba Balak Nath Shrine in Shah Talai in Himachal Pardesh which went to shrine on April 12. It was over turned when its tyre was burst near Dhandhoi village which resulted into the injuries to at least 30 devotees which included women and children also.
Dr. Sanjiv Bhalla, Senior Medical Officer civil hospital told that the devotees were given free medical treatment and four of them were shifted to Guru Nanak Dev hospital Amritsar.
Meanwhile Balwinder Singh Ladi, MLA Sri Hargobindpur assembly constituency visited the civil hospital to inquire health about the injured.
