VITEEE 2018 Application Fee Increased and Aadhar Card Made Compulsory

The Vellore Institute of Technology has announced the exam dates for VIT Engineering entrance exam on its official website and introduced certain changes. The application fee for the same has been increased for both online and offline modes. The fee for offline mode has been increased to INR 1200 while that for online mode to INR 1150. Earlier, the application fees was INR 990 and INR 970 for offline and online mode respectively.

Registration for began from November 09, 2017 and the last date to apply for the same is February 2018. It has been made mandatory for the candidates to upload a scanned copy of their Aadhar card along with their passport size photograph and a copy of their signature. Until last year, applicants did not have to upload their respective aadhar cards online.

VITEEE 2018 will be held tentatively from April 04, 2018 to April 15, 2018 in the online mode in 3 sessions on each day. Session 1 will take place from 9 AM to 11:30 AM; session 2 will take place from 12:30 PM to 3 PM while session 3 will be from 4 PM to 6:30 PM.

Every year, a large number of aspirants apply for this engineering entrance exam.  VIT University, in fact, is in Limca Book of Records for receiving 2,02,406 applications in the year 2015. However, in the year 2016 and 2017 also an equally large number of applications were received.

The institute avails its applications through online mode on its website and also in offline modes in selected post offices.In the application form, you must opt for any one stream either PCME or PCBE. Candidates eligible for PCME can opt for any of the B.Tech degree programs whereas those eligible for PCBE will go for any of the three B.Tech Bio-stream degree programmes only. The university lays stress on the selection of question paper while filling application form of VITEEE 2018.

Payment of application fees of INR 1200 and INR 1150 for offline and online modes respectively is followed by uploading the required documents including scanned copy of candidates’ photograph and signature alongside a copy of their aadhar card which has been made mandatory.

Only those who satisfy the eligibility conditions should fill the application form. The minimum eligibility criteria required is 60% or above in physics, Mathematics/Biology and Chemistry put together in the 12th board examinations.For SC, ST and Ne state candidates the mark requirement is a minimum of 50%.Those applying for the exam should be a resident of India or Non-Residential Indian. Foreign nationals have a separate application form.

VITEEE is a national level exam for providing admission to candidates to B.Tech program in all campuses, i.e. in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Andhra Pradesh.  It is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology in April and May every year. It used to be conducted in various centers across the country but since 2013, the exam is being conducted online. All the questions will be objective covering subjects namely English, Physics, Mathematics/Biology and Chemistry.
