Rayat Bahra signs academic pact with UK body

MOHALI: The Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI) today signed an academic collaboration agreement with Qualifications and Assessments International (QAI), UK.
The agreement was signed at the 9th Edu Convex held at Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi where 200 national and international colleges participated.
Under the agreement, Rayat Bahra Group will offer Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes in the areas of Business Management, Fashion Design, Interior Design and Game Design and Development. The unique feature of these programmes will be that the students of the Rayat Bhara Group will be able to pursue two years of studies in India and then transfer to Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales, UK, with academic credits, to complete their undergraduate degree. They also can progress to Post graduate degree.
The agreement also included the implementation of the GETS Higher programme that is focused towards English language improvement and assessment. The programme is mapped to the world standards, the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). This programme will enable students to improve their English language skill that is important for success in the 4th Industrial Age.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sandeep Singh Kaura, Joint Managing Director, Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, said the RBGI was pleased to have signed this academic collaboration agreement with QAI, UK to offer the academic programmes that are externally moderated by Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. He said that this agreement would allow Indian students to pursue international higher education qualifications at affordable costs and also get the opportunity to spend one year in the UK and gain global exposure and complete their degree, which will help them in becoming globally employable.
John Kerr, Chief Executive of QAI, UK said “We are very pleased to be working with Rayat Bahra Group in offering UK qualifications along with the GETS Higher English programme that will help prepare students for the future.”
