Punjab B.Ed Colleges to charge fee difference from SC Students: - B.Ed Federation

CHANDIGARH: A joint meeting of all the B.Ed Colleges of Punjab affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala was organized by B.Ed Federation. S. Jagjit Singh, President, B.Ed Federation. Vice President S. Nirmal Singh, ETT Federation; Sh. Parveen Goyal, Secretary, B.Ed Federation; Sh. Ram Dhull Finance Secretary etc were prominent among them. PUCA delegation including Dr. Anshu Kataria, President; S. Gurpreet Singh, General Secretary; Sh. Ashok Garg, Treasurer etc also attended the meeting.

Jagjit Singh said that since last 3 years unaided colleges are not getting Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) funds and when this will be paid then instead of sanctioned Rs 68, 370 per year, the Govt will pay just Rs 15, 600 per year. Jagjit Singh further said that the Federation has unanimously resolved that from session 2019-20, Colleges would charge fees from the SC students because the Govt. will reimburse the fees in Student’s account.

S. Nirmal Singh, Sh. Parveen Goyal, Sh. Ram Dhull while speaking on the occasion said that since last one year they are following up with the Govt at various levels to implement the fee structure which was fixed by the Govt itself for the Unaided Colleges i.e 68, 370/- per year. But the Govt. finally reimbursed only Rs 15, 600 per year to the unaided colleges for the B.Ed students due to which Colleges are unable to run their show.
