Poster presentation competition organized at Guru Nanak Dev University

AMRITSAR : A poster presentation competition on various issues of education was organized by the Department of Education of Guru Nanak Dev University. Twenty research scholars enthusiastically participated in the competition and presented issues like Human-computer interaction, social constructivism, Right To Education Various theories of learning with their educational implications, Digital Library etc. and exhibit their understanding and creative skills for presentation.
The primary objective of the competition was to acquaint the research scholars in academic pursuit for developing skills and insight into emerging educational issues.
Prof. Amit kauts, Head of the Department started the competition by focusing on the importance of such competitions. He told that posters are a key component of communicating your ideas and provide a logical way of communicating to a particular target audience. Posters have the ability to stick in viewers' minds and can be a great tool for making the audience understands various concepts in an interesting way.
Prof Surinder Tung, Dean, Arts and Social Sciences, Prof Gurpreet Bal, Sociology department and Prof Gurvinder Singh, Dean, Computer Science of the University evaluated the presentations of the posters. The content of the poster, poster presentation and verbal presentation by the research scholar were the three parameters for evaluation as conveyed by Dr. Franky Rani, Coordinator of the program to the judges
Dr. Deepa Sikand Kauts, Associate Professor, department of education shared the observations of the judges to the scholars and implications for future presentations while announcing the results. Two students Rajinder Kaur (SVSGC) and Sakshi (JRF) got third place, Arkaza Sehajpal (UPE) got the second prize and Manisha Sharma (SRF) of the department was the winner of the competition. Their knowledgeable titles of presentations were universalization of elementary education, teaching in today’s inclusive classroom, various online ICT resources and sign and latent learning theory. The posters prepared by the scholars are opened to faculty and research scholars of different departments of the university in the form of the exhibition for wide dissemination and interaction.Indu Bala (SRF) and Aran jeet Kaur (SRF) assisted the co-ordinator in all arrangements.
