Panjab University Professor gets National Award

CHANDIGARH: Professor Preeti Mahajan, Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been honoured with ‘Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS)-Prof. S. P. Narang Research Promotion Award-2018’ for her remarkable achievements in the field of teaching and research in Library and Information Science at the inaugural function of 34th IATLIS National Conference held at Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh.

Professor Mahajan has about 30 years of teaching and research experience and has authored more than 110 research papers in journals of national and international repute in addition to several chapters in the books. Her publications have received 463 citations with an h-index of 12 which is an extraordinary achievement in social sciences.

IATLIS is a leading association of Library and Information Science in India (Founded in 1969). It confers this prestigious award to a prominent teacher and researcher in the field of LIS. For the year 2018, the award was presented to Prof. Mahajan for her invaluable contributions to the LIS education, research and training.
