Nostalgic at its finest : Rayat Bahra Alumni Meet

ROPAR: It was a memorable day in the history of the Rayat Bahra Ropar Campus when renowned entrepreneurs, famous engineers and medical specialists, and professors found their way back to their alma mater. The occasion was the Alumni Meet-2017 which saw a big turnout of the former students of the institution established in 2001 which now holds strength of 10000+ students.
The former students now well settled in life turned nostalgic meeting their old friends and once they came across the changed faces, they recognized each other, and this followed emotional reunions.
The Rayat Bahra Group of Institution (RBGI) organized its Alumni Meet-2017 wherein all the alumni till 2010 batch participated to relive their college days and have a peep into the days gone by when they recalled fond memories meet their old pals. There were passionate hugs turning everyone emotional. They shared their post college life events and introduced others to their families.
The Alumni meet 2017, was organized not only to reconnect with old treasure of students, but also to honor their contribution during their academics to the campus and even later to their respective working places. The awards were given for Excellence in Business Leadership (Charandeep Singh), Excellence in Innovation and Research (Gagandeep Singh), Excellence in Art And Culture (Yogesh Monga), Excellence in Sports (Saurabh Mahajan), Excellence in Social Responsibility (Harsimar Singh Sitta), Young Achiever (Tanya Dhiman), Woman Achiever (Yukti Kakkar), and Excellence in Corporate Sector (Anant Sharma). Aluimni.
The Alumni Association was democratically constituted on this occasion to organize reunions in the coming years and for mutual sharing on a common platform. It was also decided to hold Alumni Meet every year on third Sunday of March. Later, the former students enjoyed games and other cultural activities. A DJ dance party organised in the evening was a memorable highlight of the reunion.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the RBGI, accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries present on the occasion. He said he was delighted to “welcome them to your own home” and hoped that this reunion would give them lifelong memories and rejuvenate their old connections with the college and old pals.
Campus Director Dr Suresh Seth said that this event was historical and shared his invaluable experiences of being a part of Rayat Bahra Group. Dr Ajay Goyal, Director, RIEIT, dwelt on the achievements of the distinguished alumni, and thanked all the participants. He extended them an invitation for next year Alumni Meet to be held on third Sunday of March, 2018.
