CHANDIGARH : The PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar today organized a one day “ICSSR Sponsored National Seminar” on “Social Sector Development through Social Inclusion” which was inaugurated by NS Rattan. He opined the basic reason of loopholes in social sectors development is personal benefits and selfishness and if we want to develop faster and bring happiness then the wonderful idea we have to involve each and every individual.
The sessions on women empowerment, role of banks, MGNREGA were chaired by Dr. Jaspal Singh Professor and Head, Dept. of Commerce, GNDU), Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Dept. of Management, Punjabi University, Patiala), Dr.Mandeep Kaur, Dept. of Commerce, GNDU) and Prof. Jasbir Singh from Jammu University and were co-chaired by Dr. Avtar Singh, Dr. Ran Singh, Dr. Aparana Bhatia and Prof. Davinder Singh and more 200 Participants submitted their papers for presentations on diverse subjects.
Dr. JS Arora, Seminar Director introduced the theme of seminar and emphasised the need for social sector development through social inclusion. He also said that social development is possible with the contribution of both cental and state government. Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Seminar Co-ordinator welcomed the chief guest while Dr. A K Kahlon delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Deepak Devgan thanked the chief guest, chairpersons, co-chairpersons and all the participants for enriching the audience through their valuable research work and faculty members for making this seminar successful.
Principal of the College Dr. Mehal Singh thanked the ICSSR for sponsoring the seminar on the vital subject of development and said the students were enriched by the knowledge shared during the speeches and discussions. The special thanks were extended to Dr. Balwinder Singh from Dept. of Commerce, GNDU and Prof. Manjinder Singh from Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh) for the motivation, guidance and support for the success of the seminar.
