Leekha family provide financial assistance to brilliant and needy students at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: With the sole motive to promote higher education and provide financial assistance to brilliant and needy students, the Khalsa College Charitable Society today established a fund/scholarship in the name of Leekha family by the funds provided by the US based NRI Amarjit Singh Leekha. He has sent an initial endowed generous contributions to the worth of Rs. 9 Lakhs in this regard.

KCCS honourray secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina welcomed this noble contribution by Leekha and mentioned that this act of kindness is an illustration for the society to join hands in promotion of education for the poor and needy. He welcomed the alumni participation in college management by the way of voluntary contributions like these which he said has great potentials in nurturing a culture of mutual respect and  jointly pursuing promotion of education by sharing vision, process, and results.

Khalsa College Principal Dr. Mehal Singh expressed his gratitude for this kind act of charity which would help brilliant and needy students who require financial assistance to pursue higher education and shall also be utilized for infrastructural enhancement. He extended words of appreciation for the alumni community who are willing to 'Give-Back' to their alma-mater as a sign of their gratitude and affinity towards the institution. He emphasized the importance of an effective alumni network for educational institutions which assures the alumni as a significant stakeholder by making them actively participate in the institution’s developmental activities. KCCS joint secretary (buildings) Nirmal Singh, DS Rataul were present.
