Lecture on 'Writing Skills' at KCW

AMRITSAR: The PG Department of English, Khalsa College for Women (KCW) today organized a guest lecture on "Improving Writing Skills". Mansi Singh from SR Government College for Women, Amritsar was the resource person who spoke in detail about the improving the writing skills amongst students, said Principal Dr. SK Mahhal.

She said the primary focus of the lecture was to encourage the students to practice writing while working on their weaker areas like vocabulary, punctuation, tenses and so on. Mansi also threw light on the key elements which are required for a good paragraph writing like Pre-writing, Writing, Response, Revision, Self Editing and Publishing.

The students were motivated to use simple vocabulary and straight ideas by referring to the best selling American writer and politician, John Ray Grisham. Dr Mahal appreciated the efforts of department for this initiative and said such programmes give practical exposure to the students. Dr. Manpreet Kaur, HOD of English, department delivered the vote of thanks on this occasion.
