KMV Jalandhar holds seminar on human rights:A Global prospectice

JALANDHAR: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar organized a one day international seminar on the theme "Human Rights: A Global Perspective". The conference was organized by the department of Political Science in collaboration with the department of Student Welfare. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the guests and averred that KMV always organizes various activities in order to create awareness about the human rights in the society as only through the implementation of these rights society can be developed.

Yasni Bownneedin Putto, (President International Human Rights, Mauritius) elaborated in detail about the global concern regarding the violation of Human Rights. She explained that various mechanisms have been created at the national as well as international level for the protection of human rights, but still human rights are being violated in some parts of the world. Some of the terrorist outfits like ISIS, Al Qaida etc. are responsible for spreading the reign of terror through their notorious activities.  Mr Amandeep Mittal (Director, North Zone, International Human Rights) emphasized on women empowerment and said that only with the implementation of these human rights, society can be put on the track of development. On the occassion, Mr Onkar Singh (District, President, Human Rights), Mr Sharry Makkar (General Secretary, Anti Corruption Department, Punjab), Mr S.H.Sondhi (Chairman, CHR Group) and Mrs Geetanjali (Assistant General Manager, CHR Group) were present. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Mrs Ashima Sahni, Head, Department of Political Science and the whole team for organizing this seminar.
