International meet on engineering research starts at Rayat Bahra University

MOHALI: Eminent experts from the field of engineering and computer applications from across different countries got together at the two-day International Conference on Engineering Research and application (ERA-2107) organized by the University School of Engineering and Technology, Rayat Bahra University, here today.

Prof Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Director of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh, an autonomous institute of Ministry of Human Resource and Development, was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the conference.

He expressed optimism that the deliberations at the two-day international conference would go a long way in collaborating research work done by scientists, academicians, engineers, practitioners, scholars involved directly or indirectly with the Make in India initiative of the Union government.

Prof RK Sinha Director, Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), was the Guest of Honour. Prof Vijay Gupta, Professor Emeritus, delivered the keynote address.Dr. Ashwagosha Ganju,director sase,also shared his views on the topic.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, said the Conference had brought together leading researchers, engineers and scientists in the domain of interest from different parts of the world.

Bahra said presently University School of Engineering and Technology, Rayat Bahra University, was running UG, PG and PhD programmes in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, automobile engineering and electrical engineering with more than 2,000 students enrolled. The University was highly focused on quality academics and research. Rayat Bahra University conducts education programs in 125+ courses.

Dr Raj Singh, Vice-chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, speaking on the occasion said the conference was intended to bring light to state-of-the-art research results, to disseminate knowledge, and to exchange ideas between the academic community and industrial organizations.

Prof V Rihani, University School of Engineering and Technology, Rayat Bahra University, said the conference focuses on sharing the latest development in the field of engineering technology and science. The conference is for scientific understanding of the main engineering discipline underpinning mechanical, automobile, civil, electrical, electronics and communication, computer science, information technology and their applications.
