Free BMD Check up Camp organized at Khalsa College Amritsar

AMRITSAR: The Department of Physiotherapy, Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) organized a free Bone Mineral Density (BMD) check up camp which was inaugurated by Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary, KCCS who was welcomed by Principal Dr. Mehal Singh. The camp was organized with the motive to detect the deficiency of calcium in the bones of people. More than 250 people from nearby areas attended the camp and underwent the assessment of their bone mineral density levels.

RMS Chhina applauded the efforts of the department and said that the college management is committed to provide the best possible physiotherapy services to the society. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh said that the camp was a part of the efforts of the college to make basic healthcare accessible to all.

The department distributed free calcium supplements to the osteopenic and osteoporosis patients and those who were diagnosed with low bone mineral density levels and guided them on the specific diet to raise their BMD. HOD Dr. Davinder Kaur Dhillon assured that such camps would be organized by the department at an increased frequency and concluded the camp with vote of thanks.
