MOHALI: To celebrate International Women’s Day, University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University organized a seminar cum webinar on ‘Gender Equality Today & Sustainable Development Tomorrow.’ The event was organized under the leadership of Pinky Bangarh, Head of the University School of Law.
The event was presided over by Dr M. S. Bains, Dean, University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University and Event Coordinator Jyoti Mangal, Assistant Professor, University School of Law. Karmjot Kaur and Priyanka Dhiman, Assistant Professors in the USL, welcomed the guests.
Assistant Professor Monica Bains enlightened the students and faculty members on the historical perspective of International Women’s Day while Dr. Satpal, discussed the role of women in India’s freedom struggle.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Mandeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, University School of Law.
Meanwhile, functions were organised by different schools of the Rayat Bahra University wherein discussions were held on the role of women in the society.
Cultural events including fashion shows, skits, plays and debate competitions were organised which saw tremendous response from the students who actively participated in these events.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh underlined the role of women in the society. He lauded the initiative of different schools of the university in celebrating International Women’s Day.
