JALANDHAR : Aiming to provide employment opportunities to the educated youth, District Administration, Jalandhar in collaboration with IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU), CT Group of Institutions, District Industries Centre and District Bureau of Employment Generation & Training organized a “Job Fair 2017 (Spark 5)” on Thursday at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus.
The job fair was Open to all the Engineering/Computer Application/Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Management/Polytechnic and Graduate students of 2016 passed out and 2017 passing out batch. More than 40 companies including Impinge, Jindal, Oswal John Deere Tractors, Micromax, HDFC bank, Videocon, Policy Bazaar, Victor Tools and others conducted their placement process to recruit young and qualified persons. More than 1415 youngsters registered at the fair with skills in electrical, computing and others out of them 570 youngsters were short listed.
The Chief Guest, Ankur Mohindru (Asst Commissioner, Jalandhar) inaugurated the event in the worthy presence of Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Vivek Rathore (General Secretary, Jalandhar Laghu Udhyog), Anil Victor (Director, Victor Tools), Sanjeeda Beri (Deputy Director, District Bureau of Employment Generation & Training), Manjit Lalli (Senior Promotion Officer, District Industries Centre), Mr. Abhishek Soni (Deputy Director, CCPC, CT Group of Institutions), Prof. Davinder Singh (GNA College, Drouli Kalan), Sh. Rajneesh Jain (Guru Nanak National College, Nakodar), Smt. Ramanpreet Kaur (SAS Foundation) and other dignitaries.
Ankur Mohindru (Asst Commissioner, Jalandhar) said, ““Job Fair” is one of the biggest events that brings together organizations from various sectors including MNCs, Indian Corporates, Public Sector Undertakings, R&D Organizations, SME etc. under one roof with highly competitive and professional job seekers; thereby serving as the platform for an open and wide-ranging employment opportunities. It would be an ideal platform for the students to select the best organizations for the persuasion of the career.” He joined, “At such events, youngsters get the opportunity to showcase their skills and talent to win laurels in their career perspectives.”
