5-Day-Technical Competition-cum-Training Workshop at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR : PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College today organized 5 Day CARPE-DIEM Technical Competition-cum-Training Programme on Brand Management and Soft Skills. The graduate and post-graduate students of different streams from various institutes are participating in this programme as the College Amritsar has been selected as a Zonal Centre for holding the workshop by Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata.

The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Mehal Singh who while addressing the participants said that such training programmes should be a mandatory part of academic curriculum as suggested recently by GNDU VC Dr. Jaspal Singh. He cited the examples of various universities abroad which are focusing on practical exposure as he applauded the efforts of the department for this initiative.

This programme has been planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. J.S. Arora, Head and Dean, Commerce Department, Dr. Manisha Behal and Kartik Mehta, both from CARPE-DIEM. Dr. Manisha who is a Brand Management and Soft Skill Mentor having experience of more than 14 years as a creativity and innovation trainer, said the program aims to provide training for creating a culture of innovation in the organization and to transform the participants to make free to exchange ideas on e-business, personal branding and brand management skills.

Dr. Arora said the program will encourage the students by enhancing their knowledge about practical aspects through polishing of their academic skills. This programme will allow the students to refurnish themselves and to bring out their self-confidence for facing the plethora of challagnes in their lives, said he. Dr. A.K. Kahlon, Dr. Avtar Singh, Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Ajay Sehgal, Prof. Rachhpal Singh, Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal, Prof. Meenu Chopra, Prof. Aanchal Arora, Prof. Reema Sachdeva, Dr. Jyoti Vohra, Prof. Shivan Sarpal, Prof. Shikha Chaudhary, Prof. Sukhdeep Kaur, Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Prof. Sakshi Sharma, Dr. Shivani Nischal and Dr. Megha were present. Guneet Singh and Harmandeep Kaur were student coordinators of this programme.
